Also known by his job title, Boss Carpenter, he is grumpy elder foreman of the Carpenters?. His workers tended to slack off and run away during one of his many moods. It was Mutoh's crew that constructed most of Kakariko Village for Impa, and once that was completed, he settled down there between jobs.
His family includes the Old Hag at the Potion Shop in Kakariko, Grog, and Anju (the "Cucco? Lady").
The Boss Carpenter appears in many other Zelda games. In Majora's Mask he directed the crew that set up the Carnival of Time? in Clock Town. In the Oracle Series his crew built an important bridge for Link. And, in the Minish Cap his crew lived in HyruleTown? building houses for Gorman? and repairing the destruction caused by Vaati's initial attack on Hyrule Castle.
