The Deku Tree is the guardian spirit of the earth, who governs over his domain from deep within Kokiri Forest and later from within Forest Haven. He has often aided the Hero when the time came for him to defeat evil. He is also seen as a father figure for the Kokiri and the Koroks. He was the keeper of the Kokiri Emerald and Farore's Pearl. Being a spirit, he is immortal, however, when his physical avatar is killed, he must be reborn into a Deku Sprout?. His physical appearance changes throughout Hyrule's history, but he continues to retain the knowledge from the past. Despite being deeply rooted into the Earth, he has ties to the King of Red Lions and Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule because of the pearl the forest guardian holds.
