The Desert Colossus :: Compendium of Hyrule :: Ganondorf%20Dragmire Ganondorf Dragmire

Ganondorf Dragmire was the male king of the Gerudo race. He became too greedy and soon lusted for the power of the Triforce. Ganondorf eventually stormed the Sacred Realm and retrieved the Triforce, sending Hyrule into a period of time called the Imprisoning War. Ganondorf was defeated and sent into the Sacred Realm, by Link the Hero of Time.

Ganondorf, however managed to release himself of the bond that was created by the Seven Sages, so that he could wreak havoc on Hyrule once more. At this time, Link was away in the land of Termina and had not yet returned. The people despaired and the events that lead to the Great Flood occured.

Ganondorf then became trapped deep under the Great Sea in his tower, where he remained for the better part of eight centuries. After much struggle, he managed to open a portal between Ganon's Tower and the Forsaken Fortress and established his base of operations on that island. When the time was right, Ganondorf unleashed his forces in search of the lost Triforces, the Triforce of Courage and the Triforce of Wisdom.

Unfortunately for Ganondorf, the new Hero had just reached the age at which he might go out a cast down evil, or so the tradition of his native island goes. Link the Hero of the Winds managed, just as his predecessor had, to defeat Ganondorf, reclaim the Trforce of Power?, and banish the King of Evil to the bottom of the Sea.

There Ganondorf remained for much time, until he was released once more. Over the course of the history of the land that would become the New Hyrule, Ganondorf, in the form of Ganon (or sometimes called Mandrag Ganon), brought his vengeance down on the land, countlessly fall under the blade of his archnemesis Link, only to rise again.
